Task 1 - Applications of 3D
How
is 3D used by the interactive media and computer games industries?
Include and comment on examples of work produced
using the 3D modelling across a range of industries:
games, TV, film, education, web, medicine, mathematics, engineering,
architecture, product design etc.
Games
During the very first
application of 3D in games was implemented into a maze game, adequately named
3D Monster Maze. The game was known for awarded points for each step the player took without
getting caught by the Tyrannosaurus Rex that hunted them in the 16 by 16 cell which was good for its time and known for randomly generated maze which made the game fun to play at the same time as being one of he best bits of technology out for its time.This graphical view of this game of this game was animated
at around 6FPS (Frames per second), it was also composed of 8x8 pixel black and
white characters, and the view is roughly square which took 25x24 on the 32x24
text screen. Using a 6 Pseudo-graphics with a dithering pattern also made it
possible for Malcolm Evans to incorporate a third color, in this case grey, in
the black and white picture which creates the 3D effect on the maze walls.
In my own experience i have had hands on allot of games my first 3D game was crash bandicoot this was known for its action and adventure with a 3D character in which faced obstacles where you had to think quick or you would fail the entire mission. the game was very popular for its time but the graphics were as simpler as you could get around this time but back then it was cutting edge technology so it made the game fun to play and very popular for the people and children playing it during that time.
Another game i experienced was Halo 2 his was a very good SI-FI game for its time and it helped to promote the Xbox when it was first released in 2004 this allowed gamer to experience a whole new adventure which involved a bad ass character who kicks aliens ass during the struggle for survival against the covenant fleet who are attacking human inhabited planets this was an action and adventure game with a first person shooter twist to it.
all of theses games have helped the game industry and helped to get where we are now so that is why i have chosen Battlefield 4 as my current day game in which i play this game has some of the best 3D animation available on it and it is what is used to show of the latest graphics and to show off what is possible within the industry so that why i chose Battlefield 4 i also chose it because it is a popular game as-well as a good game because it gives you the feeling that your actually in a Battlefield but it makes it so it isn't too real so that the player can have fun and not take the game to serious and just overall enjoy the experience of playing the game.
TV
The very beginning of television comes from the work of
numerous engineers and inventors in several countries over many decades. The
first practical demonstrations of television, however, were developed using
electromagnetically methods to scan, transmit, and reproduce an image. As
electronic camera and display tubes were perfected, electromagnetically
television gave way to all-electronic systems in nearly all applications.
As the television became popular it began to become more advanced and all thought the screen had no color it still because popular for people to watch as the years past and colored Television happened so the television became more popular and everyone was amazed that they could actually watch colored television this was a great achievement and it was extremely popular for the people who were watching and the people who created it.
over the years TV has become more and more advanced so that is why i have chosen this modern day TV as the television to represent the now time this TV is the most modern on out and it has every new feature available on it suck as HD 3D Television that is why it is he most advance TV available for this year this television is nothing like the other ones because it can be used for most things and it is extremely reliable for what every you want to do with it. This TV is also thin and has a flat back on it so it can fit in most places on your house or home. The TV is also bigger that the other TV so you could put it on a wall and sit really far back so you can watch it from almost anywhere depending on where you put it in your house.

Films
The history of film began in the 1890 with the invention
of the first motion-picture cameras and the establishment of the first film
production companies and cinemas. The very first film was The Horse In Motion this was a ground breaking film and it amazed people at the time because of what it was.
The films of the 1890 were seen mostly via temporary
storefront spaces and traveling exhibitors or as acts in vaudeville programs. A
film could be under a minute long and would usually present a single scene,
authentic or staged, of everyday life, a public event, a sporting event or
slapstick. There was little to no cinematic technique and usually no camera
movement, and flat, stage compositions.
As films developed over the years they began to record longer films to the point in which they were able to create a film or a long show this was the arms and legs of the films industry because of this very reason this was some of the sate of the ark technology at this time period because no one had actually try ed to make anything like this before because it was some of the unthinkable thinkable things in which created these films that is why they were curious during these times.
Lord of the rings was a film in which came out during 2001 this film was massive during this time period because most films weren't as good as this and because when it came out it was well past its time period because of the technology used in it an example of this would be the character Gollum this character was significant because he was an animated character who was interpenetrated with real life characters in this film.

During 3D Education you are able to create sculptures and 3D Model of character within a game engine this helps you to put a character into a game during the education of gaming you will be able to learn how to d thing relevant to game and you will be able to input into game in which you will be involved in.
3D Technology is used to design and create parts for the use of every day life and to help people get on with there lives you can use the 3D models to create prosthetic legs or a bit of a faces someone may have lost you can used this technology to make peoples lives better and to make it easier for them to get on with it without worrying what people think or how they look without a leg or a body part missing from their body.

3D is used in product design to create products such as things made out of plastic like cups, plates or other designs you may think of this is wildly used for when you are trying to get an accurate design of a product you may be thinking off this allows you to have endless ideas in which you can print using a 3D printer to create them.
